As I pursue my master’s degree in copywriting, I’m continuing to refine my ability to translate brand vision into compelling, strategic narratives. I believe strong communication is the foundation of powerful brands—from runway moments to product launches and digital campaigns. Guided by authenticity, advocacy, and kindness, I hope to create work that is both impactful and ethical. What VCU has Taught Me
As a Fashion Merchandising major at Virginia Commonwealth University, I’ve developed a strong passion for luxury, beauty, and storytelling while gaining a deeper understanding of brand identity, target audiences, and strategic positioning. What first began as an interest in fashion and visual aesthetics has grown into a broader fascination with how brands communicate and build meaningful relationships with consumers. Through my experiences at VCU, I’ve discovered a new passion for public relations and marketing, particularly in the way storytelling and strategy work together to shape a brand’s voice and cultural impact.
My time at VCU has also helped me grow personally, allowing me to become more confident in my creativity and more certain about the future I want to pursue. The university’s creative and collaborative environment has encouraged me to explore new ideas and refine my perspective as both a student and a storyteller. As I pursue my master’s degree in copywriting, I hope to continue developing my ability to turn brand vision into compelling narratives, using the foundation VCU has given me to build a career in PR and marketing within the fashion and beauty industries.
My Love for Cinematography
My adoration for cinematography comes from the way visual storytelling can evoke emotion without a single line of dialogue. Beautifully composed shots allow audiences to feel the atmosphere, mood, and inner lives of characters in a deeper way. Films like Blade Runner 2049, Emma., Amélie, and The Handmaiden show how lighting, color, framing, and movement can transform a scene into something unforgettable. In Blade Runner 2049, vast neon landscapes create a haunting sense of isolation, while Emma and Amélie use delicate color palettes and whimsical compositions to create charming, immersive worlds. The Handmaiden demonstrates how elegant camera movement and carefully framed shots can heighten tension and intimacy simultaneously. Incorporating beautiful cinematography is important because it turns a film from simply a story into a visual experience—one that lingers in the viewer’s mind long after the credits roll.
